Timeline of your wedding morning.
So, this one is for all my lovely brides to be. I’ve had a lot of brides in the past looking for a bit of advice regarding what the timeline of their wedding morning should look like, for example, what time will the makeup artist arrive? What time will the hairdresser, photographer, etc. arrive and at what stage should they put their dresses on? This might seem very simple for most, but it can also be stressful, and the last thing anyone wants on a wedding morning is a stressed-out bride who feels like there is no structure to the morning. The morning of your wedding should be calm, exciting and fun with little or no stress. By having a timeline of events for the morning of your wedding will ensure that everything runs smoothly. I’m not saying that you have to stick to the timeline religiously, but it will help as a guide which should make your morning run smoothly.
Depending on how many people are in your bridal party, each bride’s timeline will look different, for example if your wedding is at 1pm and you have six people for hair and makeup then allowing an hour per person hair and makeup will have to start at 7am, maybe even earlier if the bride wishes for the wedding party to be ready and in their dresses by 12pm. Don’t forget we like to allow time for touch-ups and photographs also.
Below is an example of what your wedding morning timeline might look like.
6am – Rise and shine, shower and get into those lovely pyjamas that you’ll be wearing for the morning while getting your hair and makeup done.
7am – Hair and makeup arrive. we will set up our makeup table, lighting and tools. We might also grab a coffee. It is early after all.
7.20am – We will start hair and makeup. The rota of who goes first for hair and makeup is totally up to you but i prefer to take bridesmaids first and then the bride maybe in the middle. Sometimes the hairstylist might start with the bride, set the hair and let it sit for an hour or so while somebody else gets their hair done. 8am – Breakfast arrives to the room.
9am – 10am– Photographer and videographer will arrive. They will take some photos and video footage and then at some stage that morning they will probably head of to your partners room/house to take some photos and come back to you.
11am – Florist will arrive with your bouquets. This is also a good time to pop open some champagne if it has not already been popped.
12.30pm – Makeup touch-ups and photographs. Some brides are now doing a first look with their partner so you might have to allocate some extra time to go do your first look and then come back for touch-ups.
12.45pm – Get into dresses.
1pm – Take some more photographs.
1.15pm – leave for ceremony venue.
In summary, the above is just an example of what a wedding morning timeline might look like, a guide to help keep structure to your morning. Some wedding suppliers, hairstylist, photographers may wish for you to do things a little differently and that is perfectly fine. Just remember this is your day and as long as it suits you and your bridal party, we as suppliers are happy to oblige. We just want the morning of your wedding to go smoothly, without and any stress or confusion. We want a happy and fun environment for you on the morning of your wedding, one that you will remember and cherish forever.
